Southern Flavor Oven Baked Spicy Turkey

You will love this traditionally baked turkey with a spicy kick!

Ingredients

1 Whole 12-15-pound Turkey (thawed)

½ Cup Mozelle’s Spicy Seasoning

1 Can (14-oz) Chicken Broth

 

Directions

  • Rinse turkey and dry with paper towel, liberally sprinkle Mozelle’s Spicy Seasoning over turkey inside and out. Rub the seasoning into the skin to enhance flavor. Place turkey in 2.5-gallon zip lock bag and store in refrigerator overnight. 
  • Remove turkey from zip lock bag. Put a small amount of the spicy seasoning into the injectable sauce to give it a spicy taste as well. The amount of seasoning to place in the sauce depends your individual taste. After you have seasoned the sauce to your taste, inject the sauce into the turkey. 
  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. 
  • Place turkey in roasting pan.  Pour chicken broth into the bottom of the roasting pan.  Baste turkey throughout cooking time. 
  • Bake for 3 hours (also note that each turkey comes with cooking time instructions), or until the internal temperature of the thickest part of turkey measures 150 degrees F. 
  • Remove turkey from oven and allow to stand for about 30 minutes before carving.
